HowTo

Live Forensic Toolkit features a unique "autorun" menu that allows very easy access to all the programs contained in it.

The package is a menu that should automatically start when you insert the CD or USB memory, providing that the LFT files are stored in the root of the media.

After a small license agreement, the menu that pops up should be something like this:

This is the main menu. Here you can see and access the 8 sections. Each section contains different applications oriented to a certain use. You can access the contents of each section by clicking on the image right next to its name. Then a new screen will appear, looking something like this:

This is an example of the "Forensic" section. Some sections include more applications, some others less, but the same structure remains in all of them.

On the left you can see the applications contained in that section, together with its original icon. On the right there is a green box where information is displayed.

By placing the mouse over each application´s title or icon, you will see it´s vital information on the green box: name, author, version, platform, URL and a short description.

To access an application is as simple as clicking it´s name or icon. This will open the application (the folder in some cases) without closing LFT. Also, you can easily access the original "Readme" file where available, by just clicking the "Readme" button close to each application.

These very easy steps apply to the 8 sections.

To go back to the main menu, simply click the little house on top of the window, and to exit just click on the big red button on the top right corner. A confirmation will be prompted in case you hit "EXIT" by mistake.

See, when we say it´s very easy to use, we really mean it!
